Statewide Invention Convention New York

The statewide New York Invention Convention celebrates students who have advanced from IC-NY Virtual Preliminaries, STEM competitions, schools or programs. They will showcase their original inventions on the state stage. These talented innovators represent the best of curiosity, problem–solving, and imagination, turning challenges into opportunities and ideas into real–world solutions. As they share their inventions with judges, peers, and the community, they inspire others to think boldly and invent a better future.

Awardees

Students can advance to Invention Convention New York through affiliated local and regional competitions, partner programs, or the ICNY Virtual Regional. Selected inventors are invited to present their projects at the statewide competition, where judges evaluate their invention process, originality, impact, prototype, logbook, and presentation.

ICNY participants compete for grade-level, category, and special awards. New York State gold medalists earn the opportunity to represent New York at the RTX Invention Convention U.S. Nationals at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, Michigan.

Inventing is an iterative process, and success often grows through experience. Students who do not advance are encouraged to use the judges’ feedback, continue improving their inventions, and participate again the following year. Never stop imagining, creating, and solving problems!
