Our volunteers are the heart of Invention Convention New York! Your support makes it possible for students to showcase their creativity and innovation.
Why Volunteer with IC-NYS?
Volunteering with the Invention Convention New York State isn’t just an act of service—it’s a chance to ignite imagination, encourage breakthrough ideas, and help shape the next generation of innovators. As a volunteer, you play a direct role in empowering K–12 students to explore creativity, tackle real-world challenges, and build confidence as young inventors.
Inspire the Next Generation of Problem Solvers
Your presence shows students that their ideas matter. By listening to their inventions, asking thoughtful questions, and celebrating their hard work, you help spark curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning. Students often remember their interactions with volunteers for years—your encouragement can be the moment that changes their path.
Connect with a Community of Changemakers
Volunteering with IC-NYS brings you into a vibrant network of educators, STEM professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and fellow volunteers who share a passion for creativity, innovation, and education. It’s a meaningful way to build new relationships, collaborate with inspiring people, and even discover new professional opportunities.
Experience the Joy of Innovation Up Close
There’s nothing quite like seeing a student proudly describe a solution they designed from scratch. Volunteers get a front-row seat to the excitement, pride, and aha-moments that happen during the event. Knowing that you played a part in that journey—no matter how small—is incredibly rewarding and often unforgettable.
Make a Lasting Impact in Your Community
By supporting IC-NYS, you help ensure that students across New York—especially in underserved districts—gain access to hands-on STEM education and opportunities to explore invention and entrepreneurship. Your involvement strengthens the state’s commitment to creativity, equity, and innovation, helping build a stronger, more empowered future for all.
